A Day In The Life!

Hi!!

It’s been hectic!!! BUT honestly in a good way. My production is coming along well, Shanghai gig, NBA All-Star weekend, and 2 new mixes….like I said, it’s been hectic in a good way.

I’ve been working on 2 new projects. One with Kenny Burns, and Sak Pase, the other with DJ Swivel. I’ve been working hard in the production field, and finally 2012 will be my breakout year. I’m sorry that I can’t give you anymore info on any of these projects, but February 14th, 2012 will debut my single with DJ Swivel feat. Wynter Gordon. As for the project I’m working on with Kenny and Sak Pase, heres a video to give you a taste of what we are doing (DJ Baby Yu+Kenny Burns+Sak Pase).

To launch my new project with DJ Swivel, I created a house/electro based mixtape with my remixing coming out this weekend. The 2nd mix is for Grey Goose, and will feature Kenny Burns, and songs from all Grey Goose artists. Sorry for not updating the podcast more freaquently, but I hope 2 mixes in one week will make up for that.

My residencies continue at Vanquish Lounge on Thurs, Reign on Fri, and Compound on Saturday. Compound will be hosted by Duane Wade this week. Next week, I’ll be in Shanghai, China doing a grand opening for Cuvee on Feb 16 & 17. Very excited to go back to Asia, since it’s been 3 years. Week later I’ll be in Orlando, FL for the NBA All-Star weekend. I’ll keep you updated on this, but most likely I’ll be DJin’ the Dwight Howard party on Fri, Floyd Mayweather party on Sat, and Lil’ Wayne party on Sunday.

Echoes Of Silence – The Weeknd

The Weeknd also known as Abel Tesfaye, combines this emo attitude with drugs, sex, and late night partying to give you this vintage exotic feel. It’s very easy to understand his style of music after you soak in one of his songs, and I can guarantee you theres nothing like it anywhere (maybe a hint of in Drake’s “Marvin’s Room”). “Echoes Of Silence” is his third mixtape of 2011. Music needed something new to the table, and I’m so glad he’s here. This dark, and distorted way of music is amazing to me. This mixtape features a combination of his first 2 mixtapes “House Of Balloons” & “Thursday”. For the fans that understand, the first 2 mixtapes were 2 different styles of his distorted-ness. I’ve been playing “Montreal” & “D.D.” from “Echoes Of Silence” heavily on urban radio here in ATL, long side his other tracks like “Crew Love” with Drake and his initial bomb “High For This”. If you want something different, you need this! His Cult Following is huge, don’t get left behind.
